1969-1971 BMW 2800 CS/CSA specifications

With a straight-six under the bonnet and tidied up front-end styling, the BMW CS Coupé had finally come of age. The 2.8-litre engine developed 150bhp and that was enough to give the handsome CS a maximum speed of 120mph. But speed wasn’t this car’s major trick, and neither was its elegant styling – the firm and well-controlled suspension settings blessed the car with first-rate handling and long-distance comfort. Mercedes-Benz had met its match, and BMW was now considered a key player in the luxury car market.
