1946-1955 BENTLEY R-Type specifications

1946-1955 BENTLEY R-Type specifications Classic and Performance Car

With the standard steel body fitted, the 1952-1955 R-type looked a lot like the MkVI, something the marque’s traditional customers no doubt approved of. However, there was extra grace to the design thanks to the more flowing lines and a capacious boot. The same 4566cc six-cylinder engine as on the MkVI continued but with the option of a four-speed automatic transmission from 1952. For 1953 there was a dashboard revamp but the most exciting developments with the R-type were saved for the Continental models.
