1947 Bentley MKVI Standard Steel Saloon

This beautifully presented Bentley MKVI was delivered on the 1st October 1947 to Rolls Royce Lillie Hall, Fulham and exported new to Australia, sold by retailer Kellow Falkiner Ltd, Russell Street, Melbourne. The Bentley was supplied new in Dual Grey to a Mr Mackinnon, a wealthy grazier from the Western District near Melbourne. On 27th January 1956 the Bentley was sold to a Doctor in Melbourne, a well-known and controversial psychologist at the time, who used to ship the car to Europe each year for his skiing holiday.
During the 1970's the Bentley was in the hands of the Doctors son in law, who eventually sold the Bentley to a University Professor from Melbourne in 1980. In 1987 the Bentley sold to its most recent owner who kept the car almost thirty years and carried out a comprehensive restoration to a very high standard. The Bentley comes with a file of receipts and photographs detailing the work. The body was stripped down and treated to a full repaint, invoices in the file detail a full interior re-trim in leather and substantial re-chroming work.
