Although it looked like a glammed-up version of the Cambridge it only shared the same doors as its smaller sibling. The 2.6-litre C-series put out a mere 85bhp meaning performance was leisurely. This was addressed with the A95 and A105 of 1956, the former getting 92bhp, the latter getting 102bhp. Together with its lower suspension, standard overdrive and two-tone paint, the A105 was almost sporty with a top speed approaching 100mph. For the ultimate in Westminster appeal, there was a Vanden Plas version, dripping with leather.
