1958-1961 AUSTIN-HEALEY Sprite Mk I specifications

The original Sprite was a cheap and cheerful mass-produced sporting convertible that was also tremendous fun. Cheeky looks - those ‘frogeye’ headlamps were initially planned to be retractable until it was realised that would put the price up - distracted from the fact that underneath the skin it was mainly a blend of Austin A35 and Morris Minor. However, that still meant entertaining performance. Prices today are out of all proportion to the budget origins; these are now dear machines in more ways than one.
