1961-1962 AUSTIN-HEALEY 3000 Mk II specifications

In theory the move to triple carburettors for the 3000 MkII was a good one. In practice the set-up proved difficult to keep in tune resulting in probably the least popular of the Big Healeys. Many owners found themselves spending more time fiddling with the engine rather than driving the car. The arrangement was dropped after a year when the 3000 MkIIa Convertible went back to just two carburettors plus featured a curved front windscreen, wind-up windows, more user-friendly hood and 2+2 seating as standard.
