1965 Austin Healey 3000 MK III Roadster

car description

Austin-Healeys evolved dramatically during the marque’s brief life. It’s hard to accept today that from the debut of the first four-cylinder BN1 in 1952 to production of the last grand touring BJ8 covered a span of only seventeen years. But that’s all it took. The final Big Healey, the 1964-1968 3000 Mark III Phase 2, brought it all to a fabulous conclusion with a 150hp 3-liter twin carburetor six, luxurious appointments including comfortable seats and a burl wood dashboard, and a rugged, competent chassis with enhanced ground clearance.
This 1965 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk III Phase 2 has led a remarkable life, with only two owners (in the same city, Muncie, Indiana) and 16,500 miles from new. It is original and untouched throughout, a time-capsule of loving ownership, attention, care and preservation. The interior, carpets and Healey floormats are original, the top boot and tonneau cover are in their original bags and it even has the rarely seen original tonneau cover stays. The body shows only a few stone chips but no dents or dings. It rides on original-style Dunlop Gold Cup bias ply whitewall tires. The paint on the wire wheels was applied in Birmingham, England fifty years ago. Ev
