The Aston Martin V8 Volante was one of the most expensive cars money could buy in the seventies and eighties. This stylish convertible was introduced in June 1978, and Aston Martine only built 439 Volantes with Weber carburettors until Januari 1986.
This immaculate example was delivered new in 1979, and is an early example with GKN wheels and the large bonnet scoop. Finished in deep dark British Racing Green, it looks incredibly stylish. The famous Tadek Marek 5,3 litre V8 engine fits the car perfectly, and offers good performance accompagnied with a discreet growl. The smooth automatic gearbox is a perfect match to the torquey engine. Inside, there are acres of Connolly hide and beautifully polished veneers. The power hood is easy to operate, and is in factory fresh condition.
These handbuilt convertible Aston Martins are becoming proper collectors cars these days, which is no surprise due to their rarity and pedigree. Earlier DB4/DB5/DB6 Volantes are selling for figures with seven digits, and we expect the V8 Volante will follow in their footsteps.
