1979 Aston Martin Vantage Manual V540 An original factory V8 Vantage supplied new by Reg Vardy Limited of Houghton-le-Spring, Tyne and Wear to a Mr Richard Adams of Wylam Hall, Northumbria on 1st September 1979. Supplied by the factory in the striking colour combination of raven black with red leather interior. This particular vehicle has the most comprehensive history of any car I have ever seen. It comprises of two 3″ files and 3 service history booklets! Every MOT is present from 1983 and the car was serviced every year until it went into a private collection just under 3 years ago, since which time it has only covered a few hundred miles but has had many thousands of pounds spent on her. We have yet to tally up the total expenditure of this vehicles upkeep, all of which is documented in its history, but just to give you an indication the first service, by Aston Martin Newport Pagnel cost £956.54 in 1981, the last major service – also at Aston Martin Newport Pagnel – cost £9,390.11.
