Aston Martin's V8 Coupe has become something of an Eighties icon, with prices rising accordingly. With more muscular body lines and a torquey eight cylinder engine the car was designed to appeal to the American market and offered a radically different driving experience to the earlier six cylinder DB series. The Series IV (also known as Oscar India) introduced a bonnet bulge in place of the previous scoop, an integral boot spoiler, new dash and revised trim. From 1980 the high compression '580' engine was introduced, still fed by Weber twin choke downdraught carburettors.
This lovely automatic example is attractively finished in pale blue with Magnolia hide and fitted with optional BBS alloy wheels. One of only 291 Oscar Indias produced and in very good condition throughout. Originally supplied by Marshalls to the Cambridge Optical Company it was first registered on 1 August 1984.
The Aston has clearly been very well maintained throughout its life, as demonstrated by the ream of invoices from Aston Works, dealers and specialists on the large history file. These invoices and a virtually continuous MOT history substantiate the relatively low recorded mileage, and the car drives exactly as it should.
With prices of Aston V8s rising steadily this represents a great opportunity to acquire a much loved and very attractive example.
