We’ve long been admirers of the DB7 which in V12 ‘Vantage’ Volante form is still today one of the prettiest and accomplished gentleman’s express we can recommend. Our car, offered in handsome Skye Silver which presents almost Graphite in the flesh is perfectly complemented with Charcoal leather interior, and black mohair roof, lined in light suede.
Registered in late July 2000 our car lived a pampered life in London with its first owner, receiving no fewer than six service stamps before being sold by Aston Sales Mayfair to its second owner near Edinburgh on 1st October 2002. It’s third and final owner in Cheshire acquired this car on August 2017 at 51,455 miles.
From 2007 to 2017 the car travelled fewer than 4,500 miles, being kept for the majority of this time in an outbuilding on a Scottish property described to us something from a scene in Skyfall….
Past MOT’s from this period include in 2008 at 48,139 miles, 2009 (48,653 miles), 2011 (51,732 miles), 2013 (51,790 miles), 2016 (51,809 miles) and the latest in August 2017 awarded at 52,069 miles, with our car now showing a warrantable 52,400 miles covered.
A recent £2,000 service and MOT receipt from ABP Motorsport in Crewe in August 2017 gives our car a clean bill of health and thorough examination. Formerly, as the service history below confirms the car was subject to regular maintenance, and was even treated to a full gearbox recondition in May 2005 at a cost of some £3,200.
Whilst our car has had some paintwork in the past to the nose and bonnet to rectify stone-chips, the paint, which is a shade that suits this car impeccably, presents largely in very good order. The interior is used, but not excessively worn or abused, and the convertible roof and leather tonneau operate and fit without question.
The V12 engine is a fine power plant and the relative luxury of the DB7 cabin rivals far younger luxury sports cars. With the added benefit of a convertible roof this is a seriously qualified car worthy of close inspection at a most-attainable price.
