Aston Martin Vulcan to make public track debut

Aston Martin’s 800bhp monster to make public on-track debut this weekend

The Aston Martin Vulcan will make its first public on-track appearance this weekend at the Spa 24 Hours.
The track-only Vulcan will complete two laps in anger at Spa-Francohamps as part of the Blancpain Endurance Series’ showpiece event.
The 7.9-litre V12  Vulcan is the most extreme Aston to date, with 800bhp being sent through the carbon fibre monocoque and body. The power is handled thanks to an integral limited slip differential, magnesium torque tube, carbon fibre propeller shaft and 380mm carbion ceramic disc brakes.
The car will be driven by Aston Martin Racing’s Le Mans-winning works driver Darren Turner (GB), who has been involved in the design and development of the car from its inception.
“It’s been amazing to have been involved in this project from the beginning,” said Turner. “From the conceptual sketches through to working with the designers on driver ergonomics, it is a fascinating process to be part of.”
Only 24 units are due to be built by Aston Martin, with customers being expected to front up £300,000 for the pleasure of owning one.
The Aston Martin Vulcan laps will take place on Saturday 25 July at 14:10hrs, prior to the endurance race itself. Fans can watch the event live on the Blancpain Endurance Series YouTube Channel: www.youtube.com/GTworld
