1950-1955 ALVIS TA21/TC21 Cabriolet specifications

1950-1955 ALVIS TA21/TC21 Cabriolet specifications Classic and Performance Car

Even though it looked distinctly pre-war, the TA21 was the first post-war Alvis to feature a brand new chassis. The coachwork was by Tickford, and it was heavily influenced by the earlier TA14 Cabriolet. The new chassis and 90bhp engine gave the car hugely improved dynamics and driveability. The updated TC21 was unveiled in 1953 and the addition of twin SU carburettors boosted the existing 2993cc engine to 100bhp. Both TA21 and TC21 featured independent front suspension and remained unchanged for years.
